Family business values 

We are a family based business, braaap started over 11 years ago (Blog originally posted in 2016) from a backyard shed in Launceston, Tasmania. The brand started with a passion for motorcycling and a dream of creating a brand that made motorcycling more accessible, more affordable and more fun.

As a family business, you know that every motorcycle that leaves the production line matters to us, every braaap on the road is our pride and our livelihood. Seeing a braaap motorcycle ride down the street or rip through the bush is everything we work for. It matters. This is not just a business to us, it is our passion, our family, and our life's work. It is everything.

As a small/medium sized business every sale impacts us, this means you matter to us. We are here to help and extremely passionate about any motorcycle that has our name on it.

Yes, we are a family based business; We operate under the values of a family business, however we engage the business practises and disciplines of a professionally managed company. We have shareholders, A formal advisory board and report in line with major corporations. Our company procedures are governed by the braaap Quality System which is developed in line with ISO9001 standards. As a motorcycle manufacturer our system's have been audited and review by the Australian Government.

We design and develop the motorcycle here in Australia, to Australian engineering standards, our quality system is audited here by the Australian government and our world manufacturing identification (WMI) number identifies us globally as an Australian based manufacture. We are the only Australian motorcycle company to hold an Australian based World Manufactures Identifier.

We utilise production partners from different parts of the world and our major assembly location is in China. Our Australian team of people lead the production to ensure that our saftey, quality and consistency standards are met during each production run. Each motorcycle is hand finished by qualified mechanics at our dealerships in Australia.

Our aim is to ensure we produce our product at aggressive price points and always inline with high quality standards so that we can back it up with our lifetime warranty program.

We have been named Australian specialised retail business of the year 4x times.

Our founder has been awarded young entrepreneur of the year 2x times.

Since 2005 we have won dozens of awards and received a tonne of recognition for being a great Australian company.

Live Local and Compete Global

We live locally and operate our local dealership in Frankston, Victoria but compete globally and have distribution partners in different parts of the world. We want you to feel a part of the local dealership.

We only build motorcycles in categories of the motorcycle market that we are equipped to be a market leader.

For example in 2015, we were the #1 sold cafe racer in the country. (Probably still are today)

 

The MX1 is our Superlite motorcycle, the category we won back to back championships at the Las Vegas word titles.
